About

Sarp Kayali is a multidisciplinary artist, photographer, and creative director whose work operates across fine art, fashion, design, and architecture. Born in Istanbul, a city shaped by centuries of cultural convergence, he grew up within a multicultural heritage that deeply influenced his perception of visual language and artistic expression.

His artistic journey began with formal training in music and piano, later evolving into a professional career in jazz and electronic music. He released multiple albums in the United States and performed internationally, experiences that shaped his sense of rhythm, structure, and emotional narrative, elements that later emerged in his visual practice.

After studying business at the University of Glamorgan in the United Kingdom, he redirected his path toward fine arts and pursued Visual Communications in Fine Arts at the American Intercontinental University in Los Angeles, California. There, he studied under Tom Schorer, a proponent of Bauhaus philosophy, whose approach to form, function, and conceptual clarity profoundly influenced his artistic methodology.

For more than twenty years, he worked as an Art Director and Creative Director in Los Angeles, Istanbul, and Canada, developing visual identities and leading large-scale creative campaigns across multiple disciplines. His work has been recognized with design awards, including Best Typography of the Year.

His multidisciplinary background expanded into painting, leading to exhibitions in the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. His works have been published in contemporary art magazines in London and Toronto, positioning his practice within an international artistic dialogue.

In parallel with his fine art practice, he built an extensive career in fashion photography, producing numerous campaigns in which he assumed not only the role of photographer but also full creative leadership. By integrating his art direction background with fashion imagery, he developed conceptual frameworks, visual narratives, and holistic campaign identities, overseeing the entire creative process from concept to execution.

Beyond fine art and fashion, he also designed and developed luxury residential projects along the Mediterranean coast, where architecture, interior design, and artistic vision converge.

Today, Sarp Kayali’s work is defined by an interdisciplinary approach and an international perspective, exploring the relationship between image, concept, and space.
